Welcome to Kindling.

These Terms of Use explain the rules for using Kindling. By creating an account, accessing the app, or using Kindling, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use Kindling.

1. Who We Are

Kindling is operated by Known Digital Agency, LLC.

For purposes of these Terms, “Kindling,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Kindling app, website, and related services.

2. What Kindling Does

Kindling helps dads build connection with their sons through guided lessons, shared challenges, encouragement, and real-life conversation.

Kindling may include features such as:

  • Lesson selection

  • Guided lesson steps

  • Reflection prompts

  • Structured reflection highlights

  • Conversation questions

  • Challenges

  • Wins and encouragement

  • Shared resources

  • Movie Shelf

  • Invite codes

  • Family-linked accounts

Kindling is a tool to support connection. The real relationship and conversation happen outside the app.

3. Eligibility

Dad accounts are for adults who are parents, legal guardians, or otherwise have permission to invite a son to use Kindling.

Son accounts are intended for users who are 13 years old or older.

By using Kindling as a Dad, you confirm that:

  • You are old enough to enter into these Terms

  • You are the parent, legal guardian, or have permission to invite the son

  • You are responsible for deciding whether Kindling content is appropriate for your family

  • You will supervise and support your son’s use of Kindling as appropriate

By using Kindling as a Son, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 13 years old

  • You have been invited by a Dad, parent, guardian, or permitted adult

  • You agree to use Kindling appropriately

4. Parent and Guardian Responsibility

Kindling provides guided content and structure, but parents and guardians remain responsible for their child’s use of the app.

Dad is responsible for:

  • Inviting the right son account

  • Choosing appropriate lessons

  • Reviewing content before sharing when needed

  • Deciding whether third-party links are appropriate

  • Having conversations with his son in a safe and respectful way

  • Providing appropriate supervision and support

Kindling does not replace parental judgment.

5. Accounts and Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

You agree not to:

  • Share your password with others

  • Use someone else’s account without permission

  • Invite someone who is not part of your intended family relationship

  • Attempt to access another family’s data

  • Misuse invite codes

  • Interfere with app security or functionality

6. Family Connections and Invite Codes

Kindling uses invite codes to connect Son accounts to the correct family.

Dad is responsible for sending invite codes only to the intended son.

Son is responsible for using only the invite code intended for him.

We may disable or change invite-code functionality if needed for security, privacy, or product reasons.

7. User Content

Users may submit or create content in Kindling, such as:

  • Names or nicknames

  • Lesson customizations

  • Wins and notes

  • Shared-resource titles, URLs, and notes

  • Custom movie entries or notes

  • Lesson feedback or support messages

You are responsible for the content you submit.

You agree not to submit content that is:

  • Illegal

  • Abusive

  • Harassing

  • Threatening

  • Sexually explicit

  • Exploitative

  • Infringing

  • Deceptive

  • Harmful to minors

  • Invasive of someone else’s privacy

  • Intended to disrupt or abuse the service

You retain any rights you have in your content. By submitting content to Kindling, you give us permission to use, store, display, process, and transmit that content as needed to operate, support, improve, and secure the app.

8. Son Content and Privacy

Kindling does not currently collect or store freeform private son notes, journals, or private written reflections.

Kindling may store structured activity and progress information, such as completed lesson steps and selected reflection highlights.

Dad may be able to see son progress, Wins, and resources shared by the son.

Users should not treat Kindling as a confidential diary, private therapy record, or emergency communication tool.

9. Lesson Content and Third-Party Resources

Kindling may include lessons, videos, prompts, conversation questions, challenges, movies, articles, or other resources.

Some content may link to third-party services, including YouTube and other websites.

We do not control third-party content, websites, apps, or services. We are not responsible for third-party availability, accuracy, safety, privacy practices, or terms.

Dad is responsible for deciding whether external content is appropriate for his son.

10. No Professional Advice

Kindling is for guided conversation, encouragement, and relationship-building.

Kindling is not:

  • Medical advice

  • Mental-health treatment

  • Therapy

  • Legal advice

  • Emergency support

  • A substitute for professional care

  • A substitute for parental judgment

If you or your child need medical, mental-health, legal, or emergency help, contact a qualified professional or emergency service.

11. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Break the law

  • Harm, exploit, harass, or abuse another person

  • Submit harmful or inappropriate content

  • Attempt to access another user’s account or family data

  • Reverse engineer, attack, scrape, or interfere with Kindling

  • Upload malicious code

  • Circumvent security or access controls

  • Use Kindling for commercial purposes without permission

  • Misrepresent your identity or relationship to a son

  • Use Kindling in a way that could harm minors

12. Subscriptions, Payments, and Billing

Kindling offers paid auto-renewable subscriptions through the Apple App Store.

Kindling Access is available in the following plans:

  • Monthly subscription: $4.99 per month

  • Annual subscription: $39.99 per year

A subscription to Kindling Access allows dads to share lessons with their sons and use paid features within the app.

If you purchase a subscription through Apple:

  • Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.

  • Your subscription will automatically renew unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

  • Your Apple ID account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

  • You can manage or cancel your subscription through your App Store account settings.

  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

  • Apple’s refund policies may apply.

Prices, features, free trials, and subscription terms may change over time. Any changes will be presented in the app or through the App Store before purchase when required.

Kindling does not control Apple’s billing systems, refund decisions, subscription management, or account settings.

13. Free Trials and Promotions

Kindling may offer free trials, discounts, or promotional access.

Trial and promotional terms may vary. We may change, limit, or end promotions at any time, subject to applicable law and app store rules.

If a free trial converts to a paid subscription, the app store’s terms and billing rules may apply.

14. Account Deletion and Termination

You may request account deletion through app settings or by contacting:

We may need to verify your identity or authority before deleting account or family data.

We may suspend or terminate access to Kindling if we believe a user has:

  • Violated these Terms

  • Misused the app

  • Created risk for another user

  • Attempted unauthorized access

  • Submitted harmful or illegal content

  • Used the app in a way that could harm minors

  • Created legal, security, or operational risk

You may stop using Kindling at any time.

15. Changes to Kindling

We may change, update, suspend, or discontinue parts of Kindling at any time.

This may include changes to:

  • Features

  • Lesson content

  • Lesson availability

  • Pricing

  • Subscription options

  • External links

  • Supported platforms

  • Account features

  • Invite-code systems

We are not required to keep any specific feature available forever.

16. Intellectual Property

Kindling, including its name, design, branding, lessons, structure, graphics, copy, and app experience, is owned by Kindling or its licensors.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, sell, or create derivative works from Kindling content without permission, except as allowed by law.

You may use Kindling for personal and family use according to these Terms.

17. Feedback

If you send us feedback, suggestions, bug reports, lesson comments, or ideas, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation.

We may use feedback to improve lessons, fix errors, update content, improve usability, or develop future features.

18. Privacy

Your use of Kindling is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

19. Disclaimers

Kindling is provided “as is” and “as available.”

We do not guarantee that:

  • The app will always be available

  • The app will be error-free

  • Content will always be accurate, complete, or up to date

  • Third-party links will always work

  • Kindling will produce any specific relationship outcome

  • Any lesson, conversation, challenge, or resource will be appropriate for every family

You use Kindling at your own discretion and risk.

20. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Kindling and its owners, employees, contractors, service providers, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages.

This includes damages related to:

  • Use or inability to use the app

  • Content or lesson outcomes

  • Third-party links or services

  • Account access issues

  • Data loss

  • Unauthorized access

  • Family decisions or conversations

  • User-submitted content

To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim related to Kindling will be limited to the amount you paid to use Kindling in the twelve months before the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

21. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Kindling, its owners, employees, contractors, service providers, and affiliates from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from:

  • Your use of Kindling

  • Your violation of these Terms

  • Your content

  • Your misuse of invite codes

  • Your violation of another person’s rights

  • Your improper invitation of a son or child account

22. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [Insert State], without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Any dispute will be handled in the courts located in [Insert County and State], unless applicable law requires otherwise.

23. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If we make material changes, we may notify users through the app, website, email, or another reasonable method.

Continued use of Kindling after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
